Police arrest man in Eden Prairie homecoming shooting

Eden Prairie police arrested an 18-year-old St. Louis Park man Thursday in connection with a shooting that injured two people outside Eden Prairie High School during its Oct. 2 homecoming football game.

Police say Adam Abdihakeem Adam was the shooter. Officers took him into custody without incident around 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Highway 55 and Penn Avenue in Minneapolis. He is being held at the Hennepin County Jail on probable cause for second-degree assault.

The shooting injured two people, ages 18 and 17, and prompted the evacuation of the football game.

Police say the investigation remains active and additional arrests or charges are possible. Anyone with information should contact the Eden Prairie Police.
