Authorities have released the names of two of the three people who died in a crash between a car and a semi early Tuesday in Minneapolis.

Minneapolis police and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified two of the victims as 15-year-old Calvin Robert Wolfe and 19-year-old Shiya Talise Sargent. The name of the third person who died has not been released.

Police said all three were in a stolen Hyundai Elantra that was traveling at a high rate of speed on Southeast Fourth Street near the bridge over Interstate 35W when it collided with the semi as it exited the freeway just after 4 a.m.

The crash left the car wedged beneath the semi trailer.

Authorities have not said who was driving, but police said the driver was among the three who died.

Four other people in the back seat of the car — ages 17 and 18 — were seriously injured in the crash.

Minneapolis police said Tuesday investigators “believe the stolen vehicle’s speed contributed to the crash.”

The driver of the semi was not hurt and has cooperated with investigators.

The crash, and the events leading up to it, remain under investigation.
